Core Verse and Purpose
Our core verse is Acts 28:31 which says, "Proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance."
What does this verse mean for Witness Wear?
Well, let's first look at the context of this verse...
Acts 28 takes place as Paul is in the custody of the Romans. At this point, he has been held a prisoner for over two years. He had been arrested for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ but was not found guilty of any crime deserving of death.
During his time in custody, Paul asked the Jewish leaders if he could speak with them, to which they responded "We want to hear what your views are, for we know that people everywhere are talking against this sect."
Paul and the Jewish leaders arranged a meeting, and a large number of people also came to the place where they met. Paul witnessed to the people and the Jewish leaders from morning until evening, explaining the kingdom of God and trying to persuade them of Jesus.
Some were convinced of what he said and others would not believe. They disagreed among themselves and began to leave when Paul made his final statement and said, "The Holy Spirit spoke truth to your ancestors when he said through Isaiah the prophet:
"Go to his people and say, 'You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.' For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise, they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.
Therefore I want you to know that God's salvation has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will listen!"
Paul stayed there for two years and welcomed all who came to see him. "He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance."
Regardless of the situation Paul was in (arrested and in Roman custody), he continued to proclaim the kingdom of God and teach about Jesus Christ with boldness.
As we see from the prophecy Paul shared from Isaiah, he was aware that some people would not listen and would have a calloused heart towards the Gospel. However, he also knew that some people would listen and would come to understand with their hearts the message of Jesus Christ.
Our purpose as Kingdom Clothing is to follow the example that Paul set. To proclaim the kingdom of God with BOLDNESS. We recognize that not everyone who hears will listen, but we also know that many will listen and come to know Christ. Our prayer is that through our bold proclamation of the kingdom of God, and of Jesus Christ, many would understand with their hearts, and come to know Jesus.
